NEUROM records
INTERVIEW with Rolphëus Gheo (Orzvyn)
Essence of Neurom Records:
Introduction: " Creating art from every angle of expression, drawing inspiration from every connection we forge. "
Neurom Records is rooted in a mission to amplify the voices of hidden maestros and support the very vibrations of the electronic music scene. The label’s identity has organically evolved within the realms of techno, electronic, and IDM, serving as a bridge between these genres. However, Neurom is not limited by genre—it embodies a state of mind, a commitment to exploring sound with authenticity and an open heart. The label places a strong emphasis on the environments that shape its artists, whether it’s the energy of a town, the spirit of a country, or the expansive experiences of travelers. Neurom seeks to transcribe these tensions and emotions into sound.
With a deep reverence for old-school vibes, Neurom finds it fascinating to rediscover the roots of electronic music through new generations. This approach allows listeners to engage with sounds and movements that may have receded from the mainstream but still offer an authentic glimpse into the essence of electronic music’s origins.
As a forward-looking community, Neurom also embraces innovation, future sounds, and experimental approaches that push the boundaries of perception. The label’s passion lies in blending the resonances of the past with futuristic expressions, creating hypnotic journeys that continuously captivate and inspire.
Globally, Neurom Records connects kindred spirits who are deeply dedicated to artistic sound, fostering a profound connection with their unexplored visions. This passion enables the label to recognize and nurture art in its nascent stages, supporting artists whose deep creativity aligns with the label’s ethos.
Place in the Electronic Music Scene:
Neurom Records is still in its early stages, growing alongside the evolution of its sound. The initial years were focused on discovery—defining the label’s identity from scratch, often with minimal resources or equipment, whether in design or in building connections.
Today, Neurom has reached a comfortable and recognizable creative state, where those who explore their releases can clearly discern the label’s unique sonic signature.
The label’s vision remains unchanged since day one: doing what they love, expressing themselves, and spreading the word about their music. The most promising achievements are still on the horizon, as Neurom stays deeply connected with the progress of the artists they have released.
The label takes pride in seeing these artists showcase their art on grand stages across the globe.

Origins and Inspiration:
Neurom Records was born in Berlin, the capital of techno, after a long period of exploring Paris’ underground. The transition from Paris to Berlin was driven by my desire for deeper discoveries.
Before that, I had a close connection with an artist known as "Mono-enzyme 307," an old-school french contemporary acid maestro. We often talked about releasing his music as the starting point of a label where we could spread our vibrations freely, without external validation or boundaries. This initiative was inspired by the flow of life itself—a natural progression that seemed to align with the energy of the moment.
Back in 2014 and 2015, the global electronic music scene was massive. You could really feel the essence of techno, with an understated touch of elegance. I believe that every genre has the potential to reveal its most poetic side. But at the time, there wasn’t much room to blend those genres. For example, techno and trance felt like opposing forces, and the debates over whether to mix on vinyl or digital were still intense.
As an artist trying to carve out a path, it felt like the only way to be taken seriously was to fit neatly into one of the established "boxes." But I never saw myself fitting into any of them.
At that time, you could be judged so quickly, often without much real understanding behind it. That still happens today, but with social media and even the impact of COVID, the way we share and experience music has become more open, more accepting of different forms of expression.
This is why I felt a deep need to create something that stood apart from the noise. I wanted Neurom to forge its own path, not bound by trends or popular opinions. What truly motivated me was my passion for connecting with people who had real, authentic stories and a shared love for the music. That genuine connection is what has kept Neurom alive and evolving.

Was there a particular moment or experience that sparked the idea?
I had a tough start, dealing with early challenges like finding where to sleep or how to eat. This shaped my interactions with people, particularly artists, as I realized that our perspectives on life and art were often different. Many of the artists I met in Paris were not on the same frequency as I was. This dissonance made me recognize the need for a space where I could express myself freely, without frustration or waiting for anyone’s approval.
During my time in Berlin, I reconnected with an old friend from France who was looking to collaborate with independent labels. That conversation led me back to Paris, where we signed a few papers and officially launched Neurom Records. What really set things in motion was the robust online support we built, which helped the project gain traction.
How do your personal influences and experiences shape the label’s direction?
When you start a project, especially with limited resources, you often face challenges that force you to take on multiple roles. For example, hiring a designer wasn’t feasible, so I had to immerse myself in the visual side of Neurom. This led me to develop a more abstract vision for the label’s artwork, release after release. Neurom was truly built from scratch, out of a pure desire to make noise. It’s like shaping clay before it becomes a sculpture—the vision evolves with time.
Even now, nearly a decade later, Neurom is still shaping its identity, constantly evolving with the times. My travels, diving into different soundscapes and musical worlds, have left a lasting mark on the label, both consciously and unconsciously.
I’ve seen firsthand how different cultures and places influence the way people connect with music, how crowds move and react to vibrations in their own unique way. Music is always in motion, and Neurom reflects that. The mindset stays true, but we remain open to new influences.

What qualities do you look for in an artist that aligns with Neurom's ethos?
I believe that expressing emotions through music demands both creativity and knowledge—finding the balance between the two is crucial. Kindness and a love for intense adventure through sound are what truly excite me. It’s about bringing unique, imaginary worlds to life, while spreading vibrations through space and time. We seek the alchemy that comes from deep, intentional creation.
We’re drawn to artists who take us on a journey that goes beyond genre or style, who speak through energy and raw expression. Humanity pulses with diverse rhythms, and we celebrate that diversity. If an artist crafts their sound with authenticity, channeling their own story through their music, we’re always eager to explore and support their vision.
Evolution and Milestones:
Since its inception, every release has felt like a significant milestone for Neurom Records, each offering a chance to spread our ethos of open-mindedness and cultural exchange. Whether a release is destined for mainstream success or thrives in the underground, we approach each one with the same passion and dedication.
It’s also incredibly rewarding to see some of our artists, like Gezender or Vel, break into the international scene. They’ve made their mark in their own right, and we’re proud to have been part of their journey, witnessing their growth and recognition from their very first releases with us.

How has the label evolved over time, and what are some standout moments or releases that define its journey?
The identity of Neurom has always been fluid, evolving just as society and art do. Recently, we updated our logo for the third or fourth time, reflecting this continuous evolution.
One release I’m particularly excited to share is my own project, "Rolphëus Gheo - The Bearer of Knowledge." It encapsulates the spirit of Neurom, drawing inspiration from all the incredible artists I’ve collaborated with and crafted to bring balance to our catalogue.
My personal vision tends to be abstract and transcendental, focusing on the transmission of psychedelic vibrations.
The goal is to elevate perception, leaving listeners feeling transformed, much like after experiencing a mind-bending Kubrick film. That’s the essence of what I strive to convey through Neurom’s releases—an experience that fundamentally alters how you see and feel the world.
A further key moment in Neurom's evolution was the collaborative project centered on 'Ausan's Sanctuary EP' by I7HVN, an Indian artist from Bangalore.
I invited 12 artists from all over the world, including myself, to remix tracks from the EP, resulting in an extraordinary fusion of global perspectives. I had never encountered I7HVN’s work before this initiative, but the timing felt perfect. His music resonated deeply with me, even inspiring a journey to his country afterward. Each remix brought something distinct, yet together they embodied the essence of Neurom. This collaboration was a reminder of the label’s core mission—amplifying powerful vibrations from any corner of the globe.
It reinforced the idea that Neurom is not just a label, but a conduit for artistic expression, supporting music in its highest form, no matter where it originates.

What does the future hold for Neurom Records? Do you have a long-term vision or any upcoming projects that particularly excite you?
The vision for Neurom Records is deeply rooted in our journey of organic growth and artistic evolution. Having reached our first phase of development, the label now stands at a crossroads filled with endless possibilities, all driven by our commitment to immersive sound and innovative grooves.
As the trancy and psy waves gain momentum in Europe, you can expect us to delve into faster BPMs and organic soundscapes in our upcoming collaborations.
We’re also focused on strengthening global connections with our collaborators, nurturing our long-term dream of hosting a humble festival in the forest. This event would serve as a beautiful celebration for us, merging the natural world with sound and showcasing the eclectic spirit of Neurom.
Our aim is to foster deep connections through the power of art—whether we meet online or in person, the shared passion for music unites us all.
Another exciting project on the horizon is our first physical release—a symbolic step after years of focusing on digital music. This release will feature our talented artists, marking a significant shift toward tangible, collectible music. We’re exploring new formats like USB releases and NFTs, constantly pushing the boundaries of how music can be shared and experienced.
How do you envision the label’s sound evolving in the coming years, and what new frontiers are you eager to explore?
When I think about the future of music, I consider how technology will influence our sound and artistic expression. We’re living in a time where advances in music production and distribution are not just tools—they’re catalysts for creativity. I believe that as technology evolves, it opens up limitless possibilities for artists to innovate and push the boundaries of what music can be.
For Neurom, this means embracing all kinds of advancements in the musical field that will allow artists and listeners to connect with even greater intensity through multiple ways.

How does Neurom’s philosophy of community and open-mindedness shape your relationships with artists and collaborators?
In many ways, I see every artist as my brother or sister, bound together by a shared love for sound and passion. Each artist brings their own unique personality and approach, with different expectations and creative drives. For me, feeling genuine passion and love for them is essential—it’s more than just about releasing music. It's about nurturing relationships that last beyond a single release, creating a sense of family within the label.
I’m not just releasing their music and moving on. I stay involved, follow their journey, and when I have free time, I continue to promote their new projects and events. These relationships feel like music itself—eternal. Whenever there’s a new project, I always let them know they are welcome to be a part of it again. We decide how we want to see time, the people we connect with, and the experiences we go through. I value all these connections deeply, and I want to create a space where these bonds can thrive.
In what ways does the label foster unity among artists, listeners, and creative minds engaged with Neurom?
One way is by simply doing what we’re doing right now—through interviews and conversations like this. It’s a chance to share the Neurom spirit. Although we haven’t been heavily active on social media yet, we’re planning to change that soon. I think of unity as something that resonates from small actions, from being genuine, and from believing in the process. It’s a bit abstract, like gravity, but every move we make has its importance. By staying true to ourselves and our passion, we naturally create that sense of unity among artists and listeners. It’s all about following the flow and trusting that these connections will keep growing organically.

What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced while growing Neurom Records? How did overcoming these challenges shape the label’s current identity?
Without a doubt, the hardest part has been making everything happen without a consistent income. Every release is an investment of time, whether it’s designing, mastering, or promoting—it all has to be done with careful management and at the lowest possible cost. On top of that, balancing the reality of my personal life while struggling to survive in a capitalist-driven world was a constant challenge. Music, especially in the early stages, is often non-lucrative. Running a label in itself is already a huge challenge.
As the label continues to grow, what lessons have you learned that you would pass on to other independent label founders?
The main lesson I’ve learned is that a label owner has to have the ability to renew themselves constantly. Beyond the connections with artists and promoters, it’s important to stay updated on the industry, be curious about new technologies, and embrace new forms of expression. Things change fast in music, and adapting is essential. But most importantly, stay true to yourself. Working in this field can stir up a lot of different emotions, and it’s easy to get swept away. But the key is to remain authentic to your vision and your values.

Can you walk us through the creative process behind curating a release for Neurom? How do you decide which artists or tracks best fit the label’s mission and aesthetic?
It always starts with immersing myself in the artist's music. It’s about stepping into their world and feeling their vibrations. I listen closely, feeling the journey they’re sharing through their sound.
We really value artists who approach their craft with humility but aren’t afraid to push the limits of their consciousness if that’s where their creative process takes them. This openness to self-exploration and honesty is key for us. It’s why we often release 4-5 track EPs or full LPs—these formats give the artist space to fully unfold their vision and allow listeners to get a deeper sense of who they are. Neurom is always looking for artists who are fearless in translating their internal journey into sound.
If I feel a strong connection with the artist’s music and vision, I reach out to build on that. Most of the artists we’ve released have approached us, and from there, we establish a comfortable, mutual understanding.
Once we’re on the same wavelength, we move forward with the release. Each project needs to be a unique journey, a distinct vision that’s reflected in the sound’s conception, tonalities, and groove.
Visual identity plays a big role too. We believe that the way artists express themselves visually, through photos, videos, or performances, is just as important as the music. It reflects their environment, their personal style, and how they see the world. For me, the synergy between visual art and sound is crucial in shaping the full experience.

You’ve mentioned that your travels and interactions with different cultures have influenced the label. How do these global experiences continue to shape the sound and vision of Neurom Records?
I’ve always been drawn to learning from the perspectives and intentions of others. It’s fascinating to see how art becomes a vessel to express identity, belief, or even deeper emotions. What’s remarkable is that all of this stems from the minds of individuals—their cultures, their experiences. Every place I’ve visited offers a unique vision, and whether it’s through different colors, tonalities, or whether the medium is acoustic or electronic, these nuances expand your understanding of the world and influence how you perceive things.
I like to believe that the more open your mind is, the more your tastes evolve, ultimately leading to greater joy in the process.
Traveling and immersing myself in all that diversity has definitely expanded my vision of what’s possible. It made me realize that, in the end, there are no real rules in the realm of art. We set our own limits, and the way we perceive ourselves and our creations is what truly defines us.
Music also changes based on the environment. What resonates in one city might not connect in another due to different social dynamics or expectations. This constantly pushes me to rethink and adapt, realizing that vibrations are never static.
Like life, music is fluid, and it’s our role as DJs, musicians, and producers to take listeners on a journey with endless possibilities.

The global environment—climate, politics, economy, and social factors—all contribute to shaping the sound of tomorrow. Neurom reflects this, allowing our artists to channel their experiences, and the places they've encountered, into their work. It’s a balance between personal expression and external influences, which is why ego must be controlled. For me, it’s all about serving the music. Artists are the creators, and their role is to bring those invisible, yet deeply perceptible, feelings to life. Kindness and openness lead to truth in art, and that’s what we strive to manifest at Neurom.
